New Orleans, La., Aug. 25, 2015 – A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School of Literature and Technology was held during a week of events surrounding the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The school is located at the Stuart R. Bradley School in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans. The facility was funded by FEMA’s Public Assistance Grant Program as part of a $1.8 billion lump sum to help the Recovery School District rebuild or repair 88 New Orleans public school campuses following Hurricane Katrina.
